A quiet spot near the busy Orlando theme parks

Lake Louisa State Park is a peaceful place not far from Orlando’s Walt Disney World. This state park is in the town of Clermont Florida, which is about a 45-minute drive to the Disney Parks. Even though you are not far from the hustle and bustle of Disney and Orlando, it feels like worlds away.

Admission to the park is $5 per car. There are amenities at the park to stay overnight, whether it is the campground or the cabins that overlook one of the lakes on property. Recently, the park has even added “glamping” sites.

A day can also be spent at this Florida state park. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent, as are bicycles. There are also plenty of trails that can be hiked or ridden by horseback.

During my weekend at this state park, we stayed in one of the cabins. It had two bedrooms, so plenty of room for a family. The kitchen came stocked with cooking utensils, so you can pick up groceries at a nearby store on the way in. The cabin also had a screened in porch that overlooked one of the lakes. The cabins also have a firepit, so cooking s’mores was on our docket during our weekend trip! We spent time kayaking as well as going on some hikes. During one of the hikes, we came across some orange trees, which gave us a delicious snack!

If you are planning to come to the Orlando area, and would like to spend time in nature, Lake Louisa State Park is a great place to visit.
